MODEM SITES FOR DRIVERS AND V.90 UPGRADES
If you are experiencing slow connects, no connects, or other problems with your 56k modem, you may need to upgrade your modem to the latest set of drivers and firmware. This list will take you directly to the download areas of some of the most popular modem manufacturers.
Some modems currently on the market have compatibility issues and may not function with 100% efficency. This hardware includes USRR WinmodemTM LTs, RockwellTM, GatewayR TelepathTM and TelepathTM II, and other LT-based modems, as well as some older or generic models. If you have one of these modems, we suggest downloading the latest drivers to ensure maximum performance and efficency from your modem.
WARNING! Do not use a line splitter on either end of your modem connection. Plugging your modem into a line splitter will radically alter your baud rate and connection stability. For maximum performance, you should connect your modem directly to the wall jack. Passing your phone line through fax or answering machines will degrade connection speeds and reliability.
