Windows 3.X Connection

Trumpet Winsock - Windows 3.x

Please read and print these instructions and disconnect from the Internet before making any listed changes.

1. Go to www.a5.com and Click on Local Number Finder for your Local Number.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Click on Get my local number
4. Write down the appropriate phone number listed
5. Open your Trumpet Winsock or TCP Manager.
6. Go to Dialer
7. Choose Edit Scripts
8. Choose login.cmd
9. For the third line in the following script, you need to replace phone with the phone number you are dialing. Use the number that you wrote down in step 4.

    

   output ATZ\13
   input 10 OK\13
   output ATDTphone\13
   input 50 CONNECT
                        

   For example, if you lived in the 847 area code and called the Antioch POP site, you would enter the following four lines:

   output ATZ\13
   input 10 OK\13
   output ATDT5897380\13
   input 50 CONNECT
                        

10. Go to "File" and choose "Save"
11. Go to "File" and choose "Exit"
12. Re-open your Trumpet Winsock or TCP Manager.
13. In the File menu, go to Setup.
14. Change the following values:
    • Name Server: 216.90.255.14
    • Time Server: 216.90.255.14
    • Default Gateway: 216.90.255.1
15. Click OK on the bottom of the screen.
16. Close the program and re-open it. Your changes are now saved.
